Studio Policies

1. Payment is due at the first lesson of every month.
Make checks payable to 7th Fret Guitar Studios. If payment is received after the 15th of the month, tuition for the next month will also be due at that time. Additionally, all late tuition (after the 15th of the month) may be subject to a 20% late fee.  In the event tuition is more than two months late, an additional 20% penalty may be applied.  Do not mail checks to the studio. You may mail checks to:

7th Fret Guitar Studios
P.O. Box 61609
Honolulu, HI 96839

2. As a tuition based system, like colleges and private schools, all students must pay full monthly tuition regardless of lessons missed.
If you plan on going on vacation, we may put you on vacation status during which you don't pay tuition. However, we cannot guarantee that we can hold your time slot. If you wish to be put on vacation status, we ask that you inform us two weeks in advance.  Details of qualifications for vacation status are at the studio.  Ask your instructor for a form.

3. Two weeks notice should be given if you wish to withdraw from lessons.
Any student withdrawing shall pay the full tuition to the end of the month in which they withdraw. Students are not entitled to prorated tuition for classes they do not attend.

4. Makeup lessons are given at our discretion.
Due to the nature of the class structure, curriculum, and studio/instructor availability, it may not be possible to give makeup lessons. However, due to the size of our program, there are suitable opportunities for makeup classes either with your usual instructor or with another instructor. Again, we are not obligated to give a makeup class.

5. Tuition Schedule
Tuition is paid monthly. The monthly tuition is the same regardless of the number of lessons scheduled during that month.

Tuition is computed on a 42-week yearly schedule. Basically, we have 10 weeks spread throughout the year where there are no lessons due to Thanksgiving, Christmas, instructor illness/vacation, etc. Most months will have 4 lessons, some months will have 3, while others may have 5 lessons. Most students receive more than the allotted 42 lessons a year as our teachers generally don't use up all of their vacation time (we like to save a couple weeks in case of emergency).
